My current research projects are:

• Manipulation of the metabolism of polyamines through the transfer and expression of foreign genes. The work also involves the analysis of the biochemical behavior of mammalian (mouse and human) genes in the heterologous environment of plant cells and the inheritance of foreign genes.
  
  
• Cell/tissue culture and genetic transformation of forest trees.
  
  
• Gene regulation in response to abiotic stress in plants.
  
  
• Gene cloning and genetic transformation of marine algae.
